Graduate – Wanja Atieno

Wanja Otieno founded Grandeur Chiq in 2021 (The company just celebrated its 1st anniversary in June this year). This high-quality shoe brand is purposed to make women feel good by looking good. They aim to help women be authentic while embracing their style.

Initially, Wanja tried her hands at offering a variety of products but later decided to specialize in boots. She says, “I’ve always had a liking for boots. My love for the shoes led me down this path, although I had never envisioned myself selling them.”

Grandeur Chiq is an online store based in Nairobi, Kenya and delivers nationally, Mombasa being their furthest delivery so far. Inquiries have come from as far as Sudan, Ghana and Nigeria and this just shows the potential and opportunities for digital marketing as the company grows into the international market.

As a content creator and graphic designer, Wanja has been able to brand Grandeur Chiq on various digital platforms successfully. 

“I’ve been listening to bits and pieces of advice given during the weekly sessions and thereafter I envision my business and I am able to see how I can practically improve on the things I am doing. I’ve also learned much from other people’s businesses within the cohort.” Says Wanja.
