Judy Maina
Judy Maina is the Founder and CEO of Siafu Leather, a company that manufactures bespoke leather and canvas products. They are proudly made in Kenya and accredited by the KEPROBA (now an ambassador/face of made in Kenya through their video publications).
“I offer fashion and design consulting services, choosing to engage with vulnerable communities in the low-income sector through multiple agencies,” says Judy. Judy’s entrepreneurship, leadership and business training skills are certified by UNITAR, Strathmore Business school and USAID. She is also a trained and certified Leather technologist with several years of experience, causing her to be named as the Lioness of Africa.
Moreover, she writes publications on “Ethical fashion in Africa”, a publication of The Thinking Watermill Society in Italy. Judy has been a finalist in the FOYA and SHE awards 2021 and her company is a member of the Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute under COMESA. Siafu Leather has also been featured by Unilever-Sunlight Women in Business marketing campaign.
She is currently mentoring one of the participants of Sheworks Africa 2022/23 Cohort 1.0. We’re honored to have her on board! Her parting shot: “I would love to see Africans proud to buy African products!’
